Double Opt-In and Unsubscribe
Linkbrew uses double opt-in for all new subscribers and includes an unsubscribe link in every email. Both are required for legal compliance and help maintain a healthy subscriber list.
Why Double Opt-In
Section titled “Why Double Opt-In”Double opt-in means subscribers must confirm their email address before receiving newsletters. This is important because:
- GDPR compliance — required for subscribers in the EU
- List quality — only real, valid email addresses become active subscribers
- Lower bounce rates — confirmed addresses are less likely to bounce
- Fewer spam complaints — people who confirm are genuinely interested
How It Works
Section titled “How It Works”- Someone subscribes via the public subscribe page, embed widget, or is added by an admin with “Send confirmation email”
- They receive a branded confirmation email with a Confirm Subscription button
- Clicking the button opens a confirmation page and marks them as Active
- They now receive all future newsletters
If they don’t click the confirmation link, they stay in Pending status and don’t receive any newsletters.
The confirmation email and page are branded with your workspace name and primary color.
Unsubscribe Flow
Section titled “Unsubscribe Flow”Every newsletter email Linkbrew sends includes an unsubscribe link in the footer. This is required by the CAN-SPAM Act (US) and GDPR (EU).
How it works:
- The subscriber clicks the Unsubscribe link in any newsletter email
- The link uses a secure, unique token — no login is required
- They see a branded unsubscribe page confirming their removal
- Their status changes to Unsubscribed immediately
- They no longer receive newsletters from your workspace
You don’t need to configure anything — the unsubscribe link is included automatically in every email.
Managing Pending Subscribers
Section titled “Managing Pending Subscribers”If you have subscribers stuck in Pending status for a long time, it usually means they didn’t see the confirmation email. Common reasons:
- The email went to spam
- They entered the wrong email address
- They changed their mind
You can view all pending subscribers by filtering the subscriber list by status. You may choose to delete long-standing pending entries to keep your list clean.
